French Country, Virginia-style

This beautiful home near Crozet evokes French country ambiance in the Virginia foothills. Set on 200 acres, the home accommodates an active family of six with a love of the outdoors and casual entertaining.

Alexander Nicholson acted as general contractor, collaborating with Houston-based Newberry Architecture and Loren Interiors, to construct this magnificent 12,000+ square-foot home. Special features include reclaimed limestone surrounding the doors, a great room with vaulted ceiling, 22-inch wide reclaimed European oak floors, an NCAA regulation basketball court, and outdoor steel trellises and pergolas. Particularly challenging was the installation of nearly five tractor-trailer loads of antiques– the contents of an old general store in Argentina – including wall paneling and cabinets. The beautiful display cases showcase the owner’s professional baseball memorabilia.
