About the Role
As a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of light commercial, historic, and high-end
residential construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the
highest standards. You’ll collaborate with experienced Superintendents to develop budgets,
schedules, and project strategies while fostering strong professional and community
relationships. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to lead project teams, secure new work, and play a vital
role in shaping our business strategy. Your expertise and leadership will champion our
commitment to quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction at every stage of construction.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the estimating and budget-creation process for projects
Managing monthly cost-coding, invoicing, billing, and budget updates
Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
Coordinating the flow of information among all members of the project team
Reviewing design details for constructability in collaboration with Superintendents
Supporting and learning from our experienced Superintendents and field staff
Building strong relationships with subcontractors, tradespeople, architects, and design
professionals
Leading weekly Owner, Architect, and Contractor (OAC) meetings
Writing contracts, proposals, and other key business documents
What You’ll Bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: 5-7 years in general contracting or a related construction field
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project, as well
as the ability to quickly learn proprietary construction budgeting software
Knowledge: Fluency in reading construction and engineering drawings
Dedication: A commitment to delivering successful projects and contributing to our
community
Organization: Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Location: Ability to commute/relocate to Charlottesville, VA: Reliably commute or
planning to relocate before starting work (required)
